Jobs Report Due This Week, Oil Still Weighs

Investors this week will be closely monitoring political events in Libya and the direction of oil prices, which could have a negative impact on any economic recovery.

In overseas trading, Japan’s Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher by 0.92 percent, and the Hang Seng Index was higher by 1.42 percent. The FTSE 100 was higher by about three tenths of a percent, while the German DAX increased by over 1.6 percent. In the U.S., the Dow is higher by about three quarters of a percent, the Nasdaq is higher by over half a percent, and the SP is higher by almost seven tenths of a percent in early trading.
