India and Pakistan have pledged to continue talks to “normalise relations” between the countries.

The decision to maintain regular dialogue was made as India’s PM and his Pakistani counterpart watched the World Cup cricket semi-final match.

Manmohan Singh and Yousuf Raza Gilani were in the Indian city of Mohali to witness India edge to victory.

India now face Sri Lanka in the final in Mumbai on Saturday.

The two leaders shook hands with both sets of players before sitting down together to watch the game, with Mr Singh hosting a dinner in honour of his guest during the match.
