Shortly after announcing its fall schedule for the 2011-12 TV season, Fox released previews from seven of its new series, including J.J. Abrams‘ new sci-fi drama Alcatraz, new comedies from Zooey Deschanel and Jaime Pressly, and Steven Spielberg‘s dino drama Terra Nova.

Terra Nova, which will air Mondays at 8/7c, stars Jason O’Mara as the patriarch of a family who escapes the overpopulation of Earth and travels through a crack in the space-time continuum, which leads to a pre-historic Earth. Stephen Lang and Shelley Conn also star.
Alcatraz, coming midseason on Mondays, centers on a cop (Sarah Jones) and a team of FBI agents who track down a group of missing Alcatraz prisoners and guards who have reappeared in the present day after disappearing 30 years earlier. Abrams will executive-produce the project, which reunites him with Lost star Jorge Garcia.
