CHICAGO – A Chicago house and a former package manufacturing building have been listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The 1908 Theodore Rozek House was designed by well-known Chicago architect Clarence Hatzfeld. A 1925 addition to the classic American foursquare was designed by architect Andrew E. Norman and came to represent the “Better Homes and Small House Movement.”
It was listed in the National Register on November 2.
The Creamery Package Manufacturing Company headquarters was built in 1926. The firm had become one of the major dairy industry support companies by the turn of the century. The building was listed on November 8.
The National Park Service listed the buildings, and their inclusion was announced Wednesday by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, which administers the National Register program in Illinois.
