Amy Poehler To Direct Upcoming ‘Parks & Recreation’ Episode (omg!)

Amy Poehler keeps fans laughing as the enthusiastic Leslie Knope on NBC’s comedy, “Parks and Recreation” and now, the “Saturday Night Live” alumni is set to step behind the camera for an upcoming episode.

TV Line’s Michael Ausiello reports Amy will make her directorial debut at the helm of an upcoming episode – which was also written by the talented star — which finds her local government-loving character “facing off against her opponent in a debate” as she runs for Mayor of Pawnee, Ind.

“It’s [expletive] great,” executive producer Mike Schur said. “It’s an awesome, funny script.”

Schur remained tight-lipped regarding additional details, but did reveal that the debate will be moderated by Pawnee’s own Perd Hapley (played by Jay Jackson).
