CHICAGO (AP) — Gov. Pat Quinn plans to stress jobs and economic growth, including a bigger tax break for businesses that hire veterans, when he delivers a State of the State address that will also touch on the difficult budget decisions that lie ahead for Illinois.
Quinn acknowledged Tuesday that he will propose tax breaks when he speaks before a joint session of the Illinois House and Senate. He would not provide details but said it was part of a focus on helping people find work.
“That’s foremost on the minds of everyday people in our state,” Quinn said Tuesday in Chicago. “We have to have robust economic growth and jobs in order to be a good state.”
