Montana Families Sue Over Prescribed Fire, Property Damage

Three families have filed a lawsuit opposite a U.S. Forest Service alleging an Aug 2010 prescribed bake got out of control nearby Lincoln, causing a “total destruction” of their property.

The Independent Record reports Darrell and Linda Holmquist, Randy and Brandon Henry and Kent Taylor filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Helena this week. It alleges a Helena National Forest unsuccessful to follow a possess discipline for prescribed browns in starting a Davis fire.

At a time, a National Weather Service had released a glow continue warning, forecasting blowing winds and comfortable temperatures, and open blazing was criminialized in Lewis and Clark County.

The lawsuit seeks vague damages.

Helena National Forest mouthpiece Kathy Bushnell pronounced she couldn’t criticism Wednesday since she hadn’t seen a lawsuit.
