If a case currently before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) results in petitioners Suniva and SolarWorld winning the relief they seek for solar panel pricing, Schletter President and CEO Rusty Schmit says his solar mounting systems manufacturing business could be cut in half. That would be a loss of about 100 jobs, according to a new Profiles in American Solar Manufacturing report released by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) in advance of Solar Power International in Las Vegas this week.

The ITC case could see the government set the price of solar panels at more than double the current market price.
