Houston Astros?first baseman Yuli Gurriel will not be suspended for any games in the World Series but will be suspended without pay for the first five games of the 2018 regular season, baseball commissioner Rob Manfred said Saturday. After hitting a home run in the second inning of Friday’s Game 3 off Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Yu Darvish, Gurriel returned to the Astros’ dugout, where he used his fingers to motion at his own eyes in a mocking gesture and appeared to mouth a derogatory term in Spanish. “There is no excuse or explanation acceptable for that type of behavior,” Manfred said at a news conference. Manfred said Gurriel expressed remorse when the two met Friday night and again on Saturday. Gurriel will also meet with Darvish to apologize, Manfred said.
