Paper-product manufacturing company, Boardlink has invested £500,000 in biomass energy for its North Wales facility, installing wood-fueled boilers to fuel its 32,500-square meter site based in Hawarden.
Replacing its existing oil boilers, the installation of two Fröling biomass boilers is Boardlink’s first step in a five-year plan to power its operations with sustainable and renewable energy, the company said.
“The foundation of European carton board production is based on continuously growing, well-managed forests as well as paperboard mills powered by bioenergy.
