Hawaii is famous for being one of the most beautiful places in the world. The perfect sunny weather and the scenic beaches make this a destination for people from a wide variety of countries. Hawaii is also one of the most popular places for wedding ceremonies to be performed. There are few things more romantic than a wedding performed on a Hawaiian beach as the sun is setting in the background. That having been said, there is much more to Hawaii than the sun and the sand. If you enjoy the natural beauty if the islands, you may want to take a helicopter ride over some of the many volcanoes that are located on the various islands. You can look online for some good deals on Honolulu hotels. If you are going to visit this gorgeous island state, you should be prepared with a list of things to experience during your stay. Here are some fun things to do in Hawaii.

  1. Watch Humpback Whales

The Hawaiian island of Maui is the ideal location to witness these massive creatures in their natural habitat. Even though they are huge, humpback whales are much more graceful than many people would ever imagine. One of the most popular sights that tourists wait for is when these whales perform a maneuver called a breach. To describe it simply, this is when they jump out of the water and land on their back. Needless to say, large amounts of water go flying in all directions when a group of whales are in a breaching mood. Over 10,000 humpback whales journey to the waters off the coast of Hawaii during the winter months.

  1. Surfing

You have most likely seen the massive waves that have made Hawaii one of the best surfing locations in the world. The waves are particularly good for surfing off the island of Oahu. Over the past 50 years, many of the most prestigious surfing competitions in the world have been held in the waters off the coast of Oahu. Do you have the courage to take on these massive waves on your own? If not, you can simply stand on the safety of the beach and enjoy watching the pros ride the pipeline and shoot the curl.

  1. Swim with the Manta Rays

Off the coast of the main Hawaiian island, you can have an experience that you are certain to remember for the rest of your life. There are excursions you can take that will allow you to swim with fascinating manta rays. There is no need to be scared of these creatures that possess wingspans as great as 12 feet across. This is because manta rays do not have deadly stingers like their stingray cousins. If you decide to go swimming with the manta rays, this is a story you are certain to tell your grandchildren.

  1. Iolani Palace

On the island of Oahu, you will be able to tour the Iolani Palace, the exquisite former residence of King Kalakaua, Hawaii’s last king. The ornate interior and fabulous architecture are truly something to behold. The palace was completed in 1882 and encompasses 104 rooms that are located on four floors. The palace also has technology which most buildings did not have at that time, such as telephones and indoor plumbing. This is truly a residence that is fit for a king.
