British MPs have accused Facebook of “intentionally and knowingly” violating data privacy laws and called for a code of ethics to regulate social media platforms to limit the spread of fake news.

Following an 18-month investigation, a British parliamentary committee on Monday released a report saying Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg failed to show “leadership or personal responsibility” over fake news.
