The New Bedford Science Café will explore “Are Robots Stealing Our Jobs? What to be scared of, and what not” from 6 to 8 p.m. April 2 at the Greasy Luck Brewpub, 791 Purchase St., New Bedford.

The guest speaker will be robotics engineer Peter Haas, associate director of the Humanity Centered Robotics Initiative, Brown University.

Haas, a global investigator of the social impact of AI and robots, has lots to share that may surprise you. Although there’s no stopping jobs lost to automation, he is hopeful for the future of people jobs, especially here in Southern Massachusetts, according to a news release.
