HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — A Huntington physician has been appointed to serve on the West Virginia Board of Education, according to a news release from Mountain Health Network.

Dr. Daniel D. Snavely, an interventional cardiologist with St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute and HIMG, and member of the Mountain Health Network board of directors, was appointed by Gov. Jim Justice.

According to the news release, Snavely will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Joseph Wallace from the board last month. His term will expire in November 2024.

“I am passionate about public education in our state and I look forward to serving and assisting with the diligence the position deserves,” Snavely said in the news release.
