BOSTON (NEWS10) – A Massachusetts committee is reviewing proposals to overhaul the state’s education funding formula.

Lawmakers agree it’s a critical issue, but there is no agreement on how to revamp the system.

A hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday on education funding bills, including the governor’s proposal of $1.1 billion in additional state funding to public school districts over the next seven years.

Supporters of another bill say the governor’s proposal does not include enough funding for the poorest districts and would take too long to phase in.
