DURHAM � State Sen. David Watters called Gov. Chris Sununu�s proposed budget a �failure� on Monday, arguing that it does nothing to lessen the student debt burden. The governor�s spokesperson countered that Sununu has made �historic investments in education� and called Watters� statements �partisan political posturing.�

Watters, D-Dover, made the claim at a New Hampshire Democratic Party and New Hampshire Young Democrats press conference at the University of New Hampshire. He was joined by Reps. Liz McConnell of Brentwood and Tamara Le of North Hampton along with UNH juniors Lindy Hamilton and Joey Ramirez. Similar press conferences were also held Monday at Plymouth State University and Keene State College.
