The Windsor-Severance Re-4 Board of Education will consider approving amendments to the district’s medicine administration policy at its Monday night meeting.

The big picture: The former policy, adopted by the board in August, 2016, did not discuss medical marijuana use.

The new policy outlines a variety of parameters that must be met if a student’s primary caregiver is to administer medical marijuana to the student at a designated location.

Criteria include a written plan for the administration of the medical marijuana signed by the school administrator, student (if capable) and the student’s parent or guardian and a determination from the district of where the student will be given the marijuana.
