ST. LOUIS  Alice Prince, the embattled director of the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment, resigned Thursday amid audits and investigations following news reports of various problems in the agency.

“I care too much about our community to allow distractions to impede our ability to train and employ our people,” Prince said in a news release issued by Mayor Lyda Krewson’s office.
