SALEM — Salem has some potential job growth coming, according to Julie Needs, who oversees economic development for the city.

Needs, the executive director of the Sustainable Opportunity Development Center, delivered her quarterly report to city council’s Economic Development Committee recently, saying there are several expansion projects in the works that will mean jobs, including one that has the potential to add 20-plus jobs over the next three years.

She couldn’t reveal the name of the company just yet, but said there will be an announcement coming and noted in her report that the expansion represents a significant investment in Salem.

She’s also talking with another company that’s looking at possible expansion that she reported has the potential for significant job creation.
