Antis Township has hired long time area recycling director as its newly created Recreation & Environ­mental Code Director.

John Frederick, 62, will step in to his new role with the township on April 15 after his last day as the Intermunicipality Relations Committee’s executive director on April 11. Frederick’s resignation was accepted last month by the IRC board that represents the three-municipality council of governments that operated recycling programs in central Blair County.

At the time of Frederick’s resignation, he indicated he was leaving to accept another job was unable to say where he was headed.
