Elementary age girls from Morningside and Helmwood Heights elementary schools had the chance Saturday to learn more about science through SciGirls at T.K. Stone Middle School.

Susan Ryan, workforce readiness coordinator for Eliza­beth­town Independent Schools, said it’s the seventh SciGirls event held and some of the past attendees are now high school volunteers.

Kayeleigh Mindock, a freshman at Elizabethtown High School, is one of those volunteers. She went to SciGirls when she was in the fourth grade and loved the Super Sleuths class and solving mysteries. She volunteered in that class on Saturday.

In Super Sleuths, girls collect evidence and use forensic science to help solve the crime.
