A Federal Reserve Bank report ranks the metropolitan area near the top third of 121 metropolitan areas studied for the availability of so-called opportunity occupations.

A Federal Reserve Bank report ranks the Reading metropolitan area 46th out of 121 metropolitan areas studied for the availability of so-called opportunity occupations: jobs that do not require a four-year degree, but that pay above the median annual wage.

The report, titled “Opportunity Occupations Revisited,” was released Wednesday by the Federal Reserve Banks of Philadelphia and Cleveland.
