Steve Yzerman painted a picture of his life in Detroit when he was met with disbelief. 

Yzerman was surrounded by reporters after the news conference announcing his return to the Detroit Red Wings organization with which he is synonymous, from his days as “the Captain” to his new role as general manager.

During the media event, he was seated on a dais flanked by Chris Ilitch on Yzerman’s right and Ken Holland on the left.
