Summer brain-drain is a real concern as students empty out of schools and into a fun-filled summer break — but at the Arts Center of Greenwood, the staff is trying to beat that with fun, engaging and educational summer camps tailored to a variety of interests and subjects.

“We’re providing them with educational and cultural resources so that they don’t have that summer slump,” said Sylvia Martin, who is in charge of education and outreach for the Arts Center. “We try to give as many opportunities and access to as many media as possible for the kids, too.”
