Count me in agreement with a key point of the Monday Dispatch editorial “More haste by Ohio lawmakers will not solve school takeover mess.” Ohio lawmakers made a number of mistakes when they blundered into state takeovers of local school districts. Those mistakes have had a profound impact in my home district of Lorain, where state takeovers have failed our children.
The process House Bill 70 underwent is indefensible. But it’s far from the only problem with the school takeover legislation.
