There could be a lot more soaking in the sun to be had this summer on Long Beach’s shoreline.

The popular Sun Soaked beach festival — expanding this year to two days for the music concerts — is hoping to make it a week-long beach festival, with weekday community events including skate and volleyball clinics, swim lessons and more free to the public.

Live Nation Worldwide, Inc. along with the city of Long Beach and Diversified Production Services, submitted an application to the California Coastal Commission for the expansion of the event. The state agency will consider the plans, located at Alamitos Bay on public beach near 700 Shoreline Drive, this Wednesday, May 8.
