Murphy Statement on Improving Higher Education in New Jersey
(TRENTON) – After today’s meeting of the Assembly Budget Committee focused on how the State can improve the quality and accessibility of higher education, Assemblywoman Carol Murphy (D-Burlington) released the following statement:
“There’s potential for endless conversations when it comes to higher education, particularly surrounding affordability. When talking about college, we must not forget important issues that may impact a smaller group of people, such as sexual assault survivors, homeless students, and those seeking specialized workforce training.
“In the #MeToo era, it’s absolutely critical that we ensure our college students feel safe and secure on campus. Awareness, support and prevention efforts will go far in building a sense of safety among students.
