A draft plan for school improvement does not grant local educators or officials enough local control, said a local state representative.

On May 28, the political committee of Rep. Joe Miller, D-Amherst, emailed a notice asking constituents to contact state senators who will convene for a May 29 Education Committee hearing in Columbus.

Miller also ripped a “secret group, that’s been working behind the scenes over the last several months,” to create Ohio School Transformation Plan, a draft document that outlines how state officials can help local educators improve academics in school districts.
