The Aiken County Adult Education Center held commencement exercises May 29, with 28 graduates walking across the stage at Midland Valley High School to receive their diplomas and 120 graduates receiving their Grade Equivalent Diplomas, or GEDs.

The center also recognized 12 graduates of the English Second Language Program.

“Many of our adult education students have overcome substantial obstacles in their lives and displayed outstanding courage and determination to reach this milestone and personal achievement,” Aiken County Superintendent Dr. Sean Alford said. “We are very proud of each student and celebrate their accomplishment together with their support systems of parents, family and friends. We wish them the best in achieving their future career goals.”
