Classes in the hospitality and tourism program at Columbia State Community College Williamson are set to be offered in the Natchez area in Franklin to reach those looking for sustainable career opportunities with room for advancement.

College representatives delivered Thursday a presentation about its hospitality program at Natchez Social community center in Franklin, where classes would be held, to help connect area residents to local jobs in the hospitality industry.

The college’s hospitality program director Ken Daniel, a Williamson County native and graduate of Page High School, told meeting attendees that he started out much like them — with no experience.

“I worked as a dishwasher at a truck stop … and moved up,” he said.
