Education foundation awarded grants

Thirteen grants, totaling $25,997, were awarded by the Aubrey Education Foundation during a luncheon May 24.

Grants are slotted to pay for a high school pottery wheel, green screens for elementary students, charging stations and more.

The number of grants is determined based on funds allocated by the foundation each year. Awardees are selected by an allocations committee.

Students honored for scientific research

Four students at the University of North Texas’ Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science received praise for works submitted to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

The fair is purportedly the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. Roughly 1,800 high school students from around the world enter each year.
