Ohio legislators have been presented with a tremendous opportunity to modernize our state’s energy policy in the form of House Bill 6, the Ohio Clean Air Program. At present, Ohio energy policy claims to promote clean energy, but ignores the state’s largest source of zero carbon energy, nuclear power. Other states have moved recently to update their energy policy to correct this flaw, and it’s time for Ohio to do the same.
On Wednesday, the Ohio House of Representatives took a solid first step in the right direction by approving HB 6. It’s now time for the Senate to take up the cause and move this bill forward.
