The developer of an entertainment center scheduled to open this fall on south McFarland Boulevard envisions the multistory facility as a family attraction, not a hangout.
Shindig owner and developer Steve Williams, local officials and local partners in the project celebrated an official groundbreaking on Monday at the construction site along McFarland Boulevard where the steel framework of the building is taking shape.
Williams hopes to open Shindig in October. The $6-million, 51,000-square-foot facility will be located at 5800 McFarland Blvd., across from Townsend Ford.
The entertainment center began as plans for a bowling alley a decade ago, but has evolved into a venue with multiple attractions that will cater to parents and children.
