Three hundred and forty-two days ago a Georgia construction company broke ground on a lot that would become a long-awaited home. On Thursday, and his family moved in to the wheelchair-accessible house built specifically for them. 

Gales, a former Southern University player, suffered a spinal injury during a kickoff return against the University of Georgia in 2015. The collision with former Bulldogs kicker Marshall Morgan left Gales paralyzed from the waist down. 

Multiple organizations, Georgia alumni and donors before Currahee Home Builders got to work on the property. The lot, located in Jefferson, Georgia where Gales , was donated by former Bulldogs linebacker Whit Marshall.
