MIDLAND, MI — A company called Quad is closing its printing facility in Midland later this year, eliminating hundreds of jobs.
Quad officials announced Friday, July 12, the company will cease manufacturing operations at its Midland facility on or about Sept. 10. The plant specializes in producing special interest publications and employs about 300 people, according to a statement issued by the company. Spokeswoman Claire Ho said plant employees were notified Friday morning.
“The decision is part of the company’s ongoing strategy to streamline operations and create efficiencies across its U.S. manufacturing platform and help print remain an economically feasible alternative to digital channels,” the statement reads.
