Fast-growing St. George has topped another national list, ranking as the city with the fastest job growth in the U.S.
Over the past five years, the city has grown its total employment by nearly 26 percent, from 59,000 workers in 2014 to an estimated 74,000 workers today, a rate more than three times as fast as the national average, according to a new analysis by the financial news corporation 24/7 Wall St.
Nationally, the U.S. economy added 224,000 jobs year-over-year in June 2019, exceeding economists expectations of 140,000 new jobs. The better-than-expected report marks 105 consecutive months of jobs growth — the longest in U.S. history.
