GREEN BAY, Wisc. — After failing in their efforts to swing a trade, are releasing veteran defensive lineman Mike Daniels, according to multiple reports.

The Packers were unable to find a trade partner for Daniels, who was due to earn $8.1 million in salary and bonuses this season, a source said. The move comes a day after the Packers extended the contract of defensive lineman Dean Lowry.
