Oakland A’s third baseman Matt Chapman kept things close with a brilliant defensive play in the eighth inning, then drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th as the American League defeated the National League 4-3 in USA TODAY’s annual Simulated All-Star Game. 

The NL had taken a 3-2 lead in the seventh on Christian Yelich’s two-run homer off Aroldis Chapman, and was threatening to extend its advantage in the eighth with two runners on base and no one out.
