GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A new training unit on wheels is providing on-site education and training opportunities to people working with the elderly from North Central Florida to South Georgia.

The Gainesville Mobile Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center — otherwise known as “GRECC” — made its debut at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville today.

The unit will be used for dementia simulation.

As of Tuesday, the mobile GRECC has been able to reach over 450 people that have been trained in the unit in places such as Tallahassee, Orlando, and Miami.
