FINDLAY TWP. — Visitors at Pittsburgh International Airport are in for some fun surprises next week with the return of Celebrate Pittsburgh.

The week-long celebration brings live music and entertainment, food, drink and giveaways. The program, running Aug. 12 to 16, showcases the region’s unique offerings, ranging from beloved sports mascots and cultural treasures to fun food finds.

The schedule:

Monday — A return visit by the always popular live African penguin from the National Aviary, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 2 p.m., guests get a Smiley Cookie from Eat ‘N Park. From 1 to 3:30 p.m., the rock band Lovebettie performs.

Tuesday — Carnegie Science Center will whip up liquid nitrogen smoothies for guests to try from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. From 2
