Jerome Gunderson, an information technology teacher at Grand Forks Central High School, has been named the 2019 Teacher of the Year by the North Dakota Association for Career and Technical Education.

The award is given to honor teachers who are providing an exceptional career and technology program for youth in their community and respective fields.

Gunderson received the award last week at the 49th annual North Dakota Department of CTE Professional Development Conference in Bismarck.

As a result of this honor, Gunderson’s nomination will advance to the Association for Career and Technical Education, Region V competition, which includes Teacher of the Year award winners from 15 other states. The conference will be held in April in Nevada.
