FAIRMONT — Marion County teachers got back in their classrooms this week for the 2019-20 school year, with officials reporting a promising start to the new semester.

The majority of students returned to school on Wednesday, while children beginning kindergarten began on Friday.

Marion County Superintendent Randy Farley said although it’s only been half a week since school’s been back in session, it’s been a success.

“So far, it’s been just as great as it can be,” Farley said. “We’ve not gotten any emergency calls, so everything’s going well.”
