Gov. Mike DeWine has approved two Northeast Ohio economic development projects recommended for Job Creation Tax Credits by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) at its monthly meeting Monday, Aug. 26.

Together, the projects are expected to create 215 new jobs and retain 929 existing jobs statewide, resulting in more than $9 million in new payroll and spurring more than $28 million in investments across Ohio.

Charles River Laboratories Ashland LLC, an international company that provides laboratory services for the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology industries, was approved for a 1.392%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit. The company expects to create 140 full-time positions, generating $5.6 million in new annual payroll and retaining $46.4 million in existing payroll, as a result of its expansion project
