Equity in Howard County Public Schools has been a hot topic as the district considers redistricting students.Former U.S. Education Secretary John King Jr. stopped by Columbia Tuesday to talk with educators about equity and affordable housing and how both affect school systems. The talk comes as Howard County’s school superintendent proposes relocating almost 7,400 students around the county.King told 11 News the conversations are never easy to have, but ultimately, they have great benefits not just while children are in school, but for the rest of their lives.”It is good for all students.
