PINEVILLE, W.Va. (WVVA) A dozen miners were left out of work on Monday following the idling of the Pinnacle Prep plan in Pineville.

The plant was purchased by a Jim Justice family operated business, Bluestone Resources, Inc., run by his son, Jay Justice. The plant was purchased through bankruptcy proceedings in 2018.

Just a couple weeks into production, miner Nick Colluci said workers were notified Saturday the mine would be idled until further notice.

“They called me for two weeks begging me to come back. I left a good place to come here. It’s where I started. But I come back, work two months, and now I’m gone?”
