MIAMI – Reigning National League MVP Christian Yelich is done for the season after fracturing his kneecap in Tuesday night’s game vs. the Miami Marlins, the Milwaukee Brewers announced after the contest.  

Yelich was injured during a first inning at-bat against Marlins right-hander Elieser Hernandez, when he lined a foul ball directly into his right knee. 

He immediately went to the ground in pain and remained down for several minutes as he was examined by the team’s athletic trainers and manager Craig Counsell.
