Rep. Susan Davis (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that she will not run for reelection in 2020, joining a growing list of lawmakers who are bowing out of Congress after next year.
So far, 15 House members have decided to step aside; Davis’ announcement came just hours after said that he would not seek another term. Davis is the third Democrat who will be leaving, Flores the 12th Republican.
Davis, first elected to her seat in 2000, disclosed her retirement in California’s 53rd district, which includes part of San Diego and is heavily Democratic.
