A job fair focused on construction drew about 2,000 middle school students to a place where there is a lot of construction going on – the Wilmington Riverfront.
A separate career fair was also held Monday for adults who are interested in the construction field.
The second Governor’s Construction Career Expo enlisted the expertise of several dozen tradesmen and tradeswoman, businesses and associations.
Maybe, just maybe, they were speaking to a future employee.
“We are actively pursuing smart kids who would just love to come out and get their hands dirty, hands-on work, and make a good chunk of change in the meantime doing it,” Sunbelt Rentals New Castle manager Cindy Blevins said.
