Grades 3-8 scored 57% average in the math portion of the assessment, which is higher than the state average of 52%.
Grades 5 and 8 scored an average 72% in the science assessment, whereas the state average was 66%
Grades 3-8 were also assessed in English Language Arts, however, they fell short of the state average 48% to 52%.
NPPS Secondary Director Vikki Carlson says reading comprehension is key to raising the other test scores.
“Knowing they are proficient, they’re going to be able to answer word problems more easily in math per se, ” said Carlson.
