LANDOVER, Md. — For about a quarter and a half, Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and Washington Redskins was actually relatively close.
Then the second half started, and — well, not so much.
Tom Brady eclipsed 300 yards and threw for three touchdowns as the Patriots cruised past Washington 33-7 to move to 5-0. As of late Sunday afternoon, they were one of only three unbeaten teams remaining in the NFL, alongside the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
Washington, meanwhile, dropped to 0-5 as questions about coach Jay Gruden’s job security continue to swirl.
